“The Peterborough Arts Awards, organized by the Electric City Culture Council (EC3) and presented at the Mayor’s Luncheon for the Arts, is an annual recognition program that celebrates high artistic achievement and recognizes extraordinary contributions in and to the arts. It has been my great pleasure to champion this initiative to honour Peterborough’s outstanding artists and arts supporters.”
Bill Lockington, LLF Lawyers
“Peterborough has one of the most vibrant arts communities anywhere in the province. Trent President Leo Groarke has suggested that “Peterborough really punches above its weight in the arts when compared to much larger cities.” These awards recognize that work: the outstanding achievements of our artists, arts organizations and arts supporters. This is the first time we have had the opportunity to come together and applaud the extraordinary talent and hard work of the local arts community and all that it contributes to our lives in this city.”
Bill Kimball
President, Electric City Culture Council (EC3)
Artistic Producer, Public Energy
“Peterborough has a thriving, vibrant arts community that contributes to the exceptional quality of life in our region. In galleries, performance venues and public spaces, artists help to define who we are as a community. They express. They reflect. They inspire. The Peterborough Arts Awards will allow us to come together as a community to recognize excellence in the arts that benefits the social, cultural and economic well-being of our City.”
