Derek Newman-Stille
Poets of Nogojiwanong is a legacy project that seeks to connect our community to local professional poets. It was collected in 2024 as a Peterborough Poet Laureate legacy project.
Derek Newman-Stille (they/them) is a disabled, queer, nonbinary, fat femme activist, author, artist, academic, and editor. Derek is a 9-time Aurora Award-winning creator of the digital humanities hub Speculating Canada (speculatingcanada.ca). They have edited and co-authored many publications, such as We Shall Be Monsters, Over the Rainbow: Folk and Fairy Tales from the Margins, and Whispers Between Fairies.
