As part of our Black History Month programming in 2021, EC3 launched a new project, Spotlight on Local Black Artists, curating and presenting profiles of Black artists living and working in Peterborough. We paid each artist a fee and asked them to provide a photo, an artist’s statement and a bio. These profiles are shared on EC3’s social media and are archived in a resource bank on our website. This project extended beyond Black History Month, as EC3 continues to reach out to Black artists living and working in our community and share information about who they are, what they do and how to connect with them.
This is a great opportunity to learn about these talented artists, include them in your programming and be sure to catch their work, whenever and wherever you can. Many thanks to all the participating artists! Please see the contact information in each profile.
